“CAMRA is an independent not for profit consumer group which campaigns for real ale, community pubs and consumer rights. We have over 130,000 individual members and are funded mainly through subscriptions.

We are a complex and diverse organisation with a large committee structure and over 200 local branches. Our core purpose is campaigning and this activity is supported by beer festivals, publication sales and other fundraising activities in addition to income fro membership subscriptions.

Our Board of Directors is a National Executive of 12 elected volunteers. The organisation is supported by 30 professional staff at its headquarters in St Albans.

CAMRA runs regular strategy sessions for its National Executive in particular, and Andy has facilitated three of these events in recent years. He is a skilful and tactful facilitator, managing to get the best from groups as well as individuals. He has brought various strategic planning exercises and methods to CAMRA and helped enable us to consider strategic matters appropriately. His appreciation and experience of the not for profit sector means he is able to cater for the needs of these groups well, ensuring a professional and focused approach to sessions and recognising the different backgrounds and experiences of volunteer directors.”
Mike Benner
Chief Executive, CAMRA Ltd
